Swedish Student Apartment

We have lived here in Sweden for six months and we have loved it. This has been a really great experience for both of us. I was able to try new things, step out of my comfort zone, and really enjoy living abroad. We live in a one room apartment in Vasteras. It is just big enough for a bed, couch, table, and desk. We have absolutely loved it; although there have been times where an extra room would have really helped. Downtown is only a 20 minute walk which is really nice. The very first H&M store opened here in Vasteras Sweden. H&M is my favorite store here for fun, cute, and affordable clothes.

We really tried to keep our apartment simple and functional. We got help the first week from Alec's uncle Magnus and Pernilla from our church. They helped us get our big furniture from IKEA to our apartment. IKEA in Sweden feels legit - real Swedish meatballs, right?! We are selling everything now to anyone who wants it for really good prices. We are leaving in about three weeks so we are trying to get everything ready and sold as soon as possible. We are going to miss this tiny apartment :)

Texas Heat

Today we moved from Lubbock to Wichita Falls.We packed all of our stuff up and jammed it in our car in about three hours. We don't have air conditioning so we were sweating like crazy for four hours straight. We like this new hotel better than the last. Alec was the un-packer and organizer today; I was the relaxer and napper. We rented Gnomeo and Juilet I really wanted to see it in theaters but for us redbox makes so much more sense. Don't get me wrong we love going to the movies but we can rent 20 movies versus 1 movie for the both of us for the same price. Seems unfair.

This last week was so fun because Dani, Alec's older sister, was visiting. Sirri is her baby girl who is the cutest niece I have ever had! When she was littler she was really cute but now that she has hit three months she giggles, wiggles, and loves to swim. It was fun for me to get to know Dani and Sirri better. It was good for Alec too.

Things that are going on currently are that we are still trying to sell our Range Rover in Utah. Alec's younger sister, Richelle, and her husband Josh are helping us so much. They live in Utah and they are the ones that let people test drive it. It helps to have Josh in the fam cause he is pretty much a car expert. Alec calls Josh when we have car problems. I am doing online school now and I am way ahead in my assignments, which is awesome. Also we are done with our summer job at the beginning of August. I am going to fly to Utah on July 22nd to go on a trip with my Aunt Tina and cousin Kyann, my mom and sisters. We are going to a water park! Alec will drive to Utah in August and leave our car there for his brother. He will fly to Washington a week before we fly to Sweden.

We are so excited to be actually moving to Sweden. It took so much planning and hard work but now I have a residence visa, we bought plane tickets for Aug 17, and we have an apartment already set up. Just a few more weeks...

Lewis Updates

Alec and I are about to embark on a new adventure together and we want to stay in touch with our family and friends. We have moved around a lot the last six months and in August we are moving to Sweden. Alec will be attending Mälardalen University in Västerås. I will be finishing my Bachelors Degree through BYU-Idaho's online program. It took a while for Alec to get my Residency Visa from the Swedish Embassy. It was supposed to arrive in November of this year but it came in May. What a miracle! We plan on staying there about three years, long enough for Alec to get his Bachelor's Degree in International Business Management. I am so excited to do something I have never done before-besides traveling in an airplane for a million hours.
